NYC singer/songwriter looking for people to start a band / make music with

IN-PERSON AND ONLINE

I’m 27, based in NYC, and I’m a singer/songwriter looking for some people who want to get together, jam, record music, and potentially start a band.

Honestly, this can start completely for fun. Meet up maybe once a week or on weekends, make some music, record some stuff, and see where it goes. If we end up making something really good and want to take it seriously someday, even better.

I’m mainly looking for people who play guitar, bass, keys, drums, produce/make beats, or really any instrument that could fit the sound.

The kind of music I’d love to make together is somewhere in the modern indie/alternative space — The Neighbourhood, The 1975, Cigarettes After Sex, d4vd, Billie Eilish-type production, etc. Dark, atmospheric, melodic, indie/alternative stuff. I’m open to experimenting too. On my own I mess around with other genres, especially R&B, so I’m definitely not stuck on one exact sound.

My biggest strengths are singing and songwriting. I have a pretty wide vocal range, and I genuinely love writing songs. I can handle the lyrics/vocals and I’m happy to share some of my writing or recordings before we meet.

I mainly just need people to actually create with. Someone to sit down with, play around with chords/beats, bounce ideas off each other, and turn songs into something real.

I can drive, so I’m willing to come to you somewhere around NYC if that makes meeting up easier.

You don’t need to be some insane professional musician either. If you’ve always wanted to be part of a band or make music with other people, we all have to start somewhere. Come through, jam with me, and see if we fuck with what we make.

And if you already have a band/project going and need a singer/songwriter and this sounds like your kind of music, I’d be down to try out for that too.

Age doesn’t matter much to me as long as we get along and actually want to make music.

Hopefully I get a few replies.
