Correct BMS ECU and TCU Maps for 2020 3.3t
Hi all,
I have a 2020 Genesis g70 3.3t, and recently installed the JB4Pro, which is great.
I'm also looking to flash ECU and TCU tunes on the car to give it some more power, but I'm a bit unsure which tune matches my hardware.
I bought an EK1V3, and tried reading the ECU ID, but apparently EK1 remove the ability to read form the OBD port, and I can only see a CAN BOOT option for the TCU, which requires a bench cable, which is an extra cost I didn't expect to incur.
I checked the stickers on my ECU and TCU, and found the following:
ECU --> IKLN3TMW_J0A
TCU --> SIK0T33NB4
I looked up both, and successfully found the CAL ID for the TCU on the EK1 website, so that seems like I should be good to go.
The closest CAL ID for the ECU, however, is slightly off - TMV instead of TM.
When I messaged BMS support, I received a response from Terry saying I can flash the TMV, however I'm a bit cautious for a couple of reasons:
-
I'm afraid of bricking my ECU without clear confirmation that that's the correct version
-
My email to BMS support had a few questions, and the responses ignored majority of my messages, even after the follow-up (I was having trouble connecting the JB4 ports, which apparently is due to some molding issue. I was able to get it working, but not with support from BMS), so I'm not convinced that Terry actually read through and verified that it was safe for my hardware.
That being said, I had a couple of questions:
* Does anyone have any experience with this? Is is safe to flash the TCU and ECU based on the sticker IDs, even with this slight difference in the ECU IDs?
* If I can't even read my ECU ID, will I be able to actually flash safely without the bench cable?
The JB4 + e30 (been running it on map3) has been a blast.
Side question - anyone safely run map4+ with just the BMS package?
