I’m from LA, visiting NYC for the first time and want to try food from ethnicities not widely available in LA. Suggestions?

My husband and I are traveling to NYC/the east coast for the first time in a few weeks! Super excited, and our main goal is to try new foods from ethnicities that may not be as prominent on the West Coast.

In LA and OC, I’d say we have good Mexican, Korean, and Vietnamese food. I’ve had a few Caribbean spots that are okay here, but I feel like it’s probably a lot better in NYC due to the population and proximity.

I’d love to know which ethnicity/nationality’s foods in NYC we definitely have to try! Specifically restaurant recommendations would also be appreciated. Thank you! 😊
