Story progression in Forever

Forever

I find the idea of progressing a new story in WoW from the beginning with a Vanilla mindset very tantalizing. How will they do it? Once the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor is filled 5+ years from now, I could easily see the devs take another stab at Northrend, which could be a level 30-60 continent. Maybe there's no towns and it's all just an advanced version of camping as safe places as players slowly conduct their expedition across a frozen wasteland. Who knows. Maybe we never go there at all. Maybe Arthas does a full invasion instead and we never go back there.

Will they make incremental updates to zones across Azeroth over the years? I don't want another Cata, but having zones slowly update to reflect story progression would be cool. Perhaps there's a war effort-esque movement in the Arathi Highlands to eventually see Stromgarde rebuilt. Maybe even the ruins in the Alterac Mountains could be rebuilt as well.

What do you think? I'm just spitballing but I think there's tremendous potential in Azeroth that was never close to being tapped. Let's see what ideas could be cooked up.
