Mutuals with an agent on Twitter/X, should I let them know I’ve sent them a query?

I’ve been mutuals with an established agent on Twitter/X for years, though we haven’t interacted much. I’m pretty sure he followed me for my writing on a mildly popular sports blog.

I’ve got a manuscript ready and about to send out queries. I’m going to send one to him through the proper channels, but was wondering if it would be over the line to shoot him a DM telling him I’ve sent in a query letter. Thoughts?
