Overbearing ACL

How do you deal with an Assistant Curriculum Lead (ACL) who wants to strip you of your professional autonomy? They try to veto every instructional decision you make under the guise of “oh, this is the direction the school is going….” “the superintendent will say xyz….” They even try to tell you how to set up your classroom. Everything is a problem. Neither the principal nor the vp behaves like this. They act like they own the school and they are a pedagogical angel sent from heaven to save education and everyone must do specifically what they want done or else they will try to make their lives a living hell.

How does one survive under these circumstances? What can be done?
