Asus f17 screen flickering after I updated recently

I had a backlighting issue in the edges which was pretty common but recently after I updated the screen started to flicker and I gave it to a local dealer approved by asus and he said the display component has gone and he needs to change the entire display which will cost a lot just for some display which isn't authentic asus

what should i do
