Questions regarding Retirement benefits and a savings account

Hello, I'm on Social Security Retirement and am thinking about potentially opening a basic savings account for emergencies but I have a couple of questions that make me a bit hesitant:

  1. I am aware that SSI has about a 2,000$ asset limit and SSDI doesn't. Does Retirement also have a monetary cap I can have in a savings account?
  2. Am I required to report to SSA if I get a savings account?

Thanks!
