Typed out note taking tips

Used to do handwritten notes but due to a severe case of carpal tunnel, I need to rest my hand for a few weeks. This means I have to type out my notes. I find it typing out notes to be less effective and there is science that backs this up so I was wondering if anyone had tips on how to study and do typed out notes that will be effective.

I am in a comp sci program for school and my program is thankfully fully online. I also have a set up for ergonomic typing which is why I have to rely on typing out my notes right now. Any tips and tricks would help a lot. I am notoriously not great with studying in general but need to step up this year tbh.

And any extra tips for hand written notes without cramping after ten minutes would also be very helpful!
