Mom guilt catching up to me almost a year later
I thought I could manage. LO is almost 11mo now, and thriving. Love her so much. But I feel like the identity shift - my sense of self - moving through this time of matrescence, is finally catching up. I need time to feel like ME again, and I am holding on, white knuckled, to so much of what made up me before being a mom, and I feel like it's just slipping away. I don't want it to. But I don't want to feel like I am failing as a mother because I am not taking care of myself. It feels like mom guilt piled on mom guilt.
Going through a rough patch of sleep disruptions right now, hubby doing his best, but also taking on too much. I really shouldn't be asking for more from him, but I feel like I am losing, and everything is falling out of balance. We have also been really struggling to find our new "normal" since baby came along, although we get up each day determined to try again.
Not sure what I am asking for here. Just needed to get it out.
