Padel scene in PDC

What's the padel scene like in Playa del Carmen?

I am planning on visiting for two to three months, and I would like to play a few times a week in open matches, casual tournaments, and clinics. Where are good clubs with lots of activity? Do they use any of the apps or just their own WhatsApp channels?

Looking at maps and padel directories, it looks like almost all of the clubs are on the north side of the highway and the short term accommodations are on the south side. How easy is it to get from one side of the highway to the other? Is it walkable or do you need to take taxis?
