Breast Sonograms covered @ 80%

I just got off the phone with my insurance and they said that the sonograms I need for my breasts (I have dense, cystic breasts, each with a "complicated cyst") are only covered at 80% once I reach my deductible, which I have. I've already gotten a pre-billing estimate for over $450 for the two sonograms. I should state for the record I'm a board certified patient advocate. I'm still going to get the sonograms but I discovered that MOST insurances no longer cover preventative sonograms and that since I've had diagnostic sonograms in 2026, these cannot be considered diagnostic. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE and should not be. I find that once an insurance company makes a policy, it rarely reverses it but this could have ended up costing me $2,200 if I hadn't used my deductible. This is a cautionary tale for those who require breast sonograms every six months.
