What are your reasons for quitting or wanting to quit?

Question as per the title. What made you decide to seek help and quit?

What drove you to find the determination and perseverance to quit or want to quit?

Is there any advice you can give?

Thank you taking the time to read and reply

*The following is just the context of what im going through. But im mainly posting this to understand and hear your stories and journey.*

Ive been struggling with alcoholism for the past 5 years or so. Im taking naltrexone but still have that craving. I saw the addiction counsellor and he said that my cravings are psychological, theres only so much the meds can do. I admit that part of me doesn't want help and im fine being self destructive by drinking, but another part of me wants to quit to improve my life. I used to have a reason to stop drinking.

As of now, I still have a list of reasons to quit. But somehow, I can't seem to believe it and do what Im supposed to do. I think ive given up, thats why I don't feel like caring anymore.

Ive tried quitting before. Longest time I stayed sober was for a few months then I spiralled again.
