How is everyone preparing for TARA problem solving?

I'm studying for the TARA January sitting, and as someone who will also be sitting the ESAT, the problem solving section is really difficult for me, more so than the ESAT. Some questions are solvable within the minute time constraint, and some are just filthy number crunchers and trial and error questions that take several minutes. What is everyone else's strategy for this? Does anyone know how many of these terrible questions are in the actual thing?
