Possible Long Distance Advice: I (24F) might be apart from my bf (22M) as he goes to medical school

Hi everyone!

My bf is currently applying to this cycle of medical school and might be long distance. We live in Nevada and he applied to both our town’s med school and med schools in California at the UC schools. We could possibly be at the longest an 8 hour drive apart (1 hour flight) where I would be also managing my ABSN schedule. It could work out where I can come down 2-3 times a month on the weekends so almost every week by flight if finances work out.

This would last for at least 16 months while I finish my program and possibly longer depending on if I could find a job to move out to where he is. As a nurse I would be really flexible to move where he goes for things like residency afterwards though so I’m not as worried for the longer term portion of things.

Do any of you guys have any advice or experience with something like this? Let me know, thank you!
