Considering transferring from A&M to UTD

I'm a Sophomore CS major and I transferred from Galveston to College Station. Academically things are fine, but socially it's been really rough since everyone here already had their friend groups locked in from freshman year and its been a real struggle breaking into that as a transfer. I feel like it has been negatively affecting my mental health.

I have a strong existing friend group at UTD and would commute from home if I transferred. I know UTD's CS program isn't quite as prestigious as A&M's, but it's still solid, and I think being around people who actually care about me would make a big difference.

Has anyone been in a similar spot either transferred out for mental health/social reasons, or push through and it got better eventually? Trying to figure out if I'm making the right call or if I should give it more time. Appreciate any honest input.
