Playing with monster imbument and +1 difficulty

We have so far been kind of afraid to go up a level on the difficulty (currently playing +0 with normal imbument), but lately with a few retirements we think it is time to go up to advanced imbument. Or even +1 and advanced imbument, how hard are these 2 options? Are they reccommended (we are prosperity level 5 for context)
