My dad clicks sponsored google results like they’re the actual website

Hi all, to give a little backstory I'm a little bit internet safety sceptic and I don't trust websites that require info, so today i found out my dad has been clicking the first result on Google basically his entire tech life, not the first REAL result but the sponsored one

He was trying to pay a bill the other day and I watched him google the company, ignore the actual URL completely, and click whatever was sitting at the top. I was like wait how do you know that’s actually them and he goes well because it’s the first one.

Now I'm thinking about every customer support number he’s googled, every login page he’s opened and every random link he’s clicked because google put it first embarrased to say it but I’ve officially become that annoying person who checks what's he clicking over his shoulder.

Being the way I am can't stop worrying and thinking about what types of websites and broker sites he put his and our family information in and I'm freaking out.....
