Guidance

Hello everyone, I want to apply for GSOC or LFX next year so i think this is the time to start. Can someone guide me through it. Like how to choose org? I see many contributing to CNCF or headlamp or others but i dont know cloud or ML, I am in backend. So if anyone can suggest it would be very helpful.
