Rear ended accident
Rear-ended in Texas – F-1 student looking for advice
I was rear-ended on July 29, 2026, and the other driver was at fault. My car was totaled. Police came to the scene, but they only spoke with the other driver. They did not ask for my driver’s license or insurance information, and no police report was made. My lawyer checked and confirmed there is no police report.
I’m an F-1 international student, and the accident happened right before my semester started. I’ve been dealing with back pain since the accident and have been going to physical therapy about 3 times a week for almost two months. I’ve also had medical appointments and an injection, and I’m still receiving treatment.
The accident has affected my school because I’ve had difficulty attending classes and keeping up with everything while going through treatment.
I have a lawyer handling my injury claim, but I’m confused about the police report situation. How important is having a police report in a case like this? Can an injury claim still move forward without one? Has anyone in Texas been through a similar situation?
Thanks.
