I have to come to the realization that we both didn’t appreciate each other enough & I got too caught up in myself that I was neglecting him.
I was with somebody for nine months and I have come to the realization that I was not perfect person neither and hate that I got too comfortable. I got too caught up in myself, and I was scared to speak up for myself that I didn’t realize I was neglecting him and he sort of felt it too, and I never spoke up about why I was feeling what I was feeling, even though I deeply loved him still. I feel like he felt that I didn’t want him no more that he started pushing away from me and towards the end, I noticed he started looking for other girls, and he was slowly slowly distancing himself from me that that in the end after a while, I brought something up and he basically told me how he felt from his perspective and everything, and I couldn’t properly talk to him about my emotions, but I told him what I was feeling and everything, but never told him why I was feeling the way I felt. Bc he was being hot & cold with me a lot, but I never spoke up for myself and so he never knew what I was feeling when I was feeling something, and then he started giving me the cold shoulder at the end, and I was overwhelmed by it, and the fact that I kind of knew he was done with me so I cut him off and we never finished having our unresolved conversation cause he wanted me to wait for days until he was ready to speak with me. We were long distance, had different work schedules, etc. we made it work in the beginning & everything but with time I got too comfortable that I thought everything was okay and if something bothered me I told myself I’d wait until it happened again.
I have to come to terms that I cut him off & that there may be no possibility for us to try again in the future. He was okay with me letting him go bc “who is he to chase”. I have to come to terms with the fact that I had to learn my lesson with him, even if it meant losing him. It really did wake me up. But I hate that I had to lose him to realize it. Maybe we were incompatible in a way, but we were so good for each other in s other ways you don’t even realize. The incompatibilities we had were very minor too that some of them we made work but there was some he couldn’t let go about me.
We really could’ve worked if we both had proper communication & the emotional maturity. He also didn’t treat me the best & was very petty toward me & was a hothead. He’d get upset over the most minor things that could’ve been easily talked about & gave me the cold shoulder until we finally talked about it. My family members didn’t like him but he had a lot of other qualities that I loved about him.
