Is the Audi e-tron still a good choice in 2026?

I’m considering a used Audi e-tron 55 and would be interested in hearing from owners: is it still a good choice in 2026?

I have the possibility of getting one on a 2-year used-car lease where pretty much everything is included, including repairs and maintenance (but not electricity). This makes the idea quite appealing to me, as I wouldn’t be taking on the long-term repair risk of an older EV.

We’re also about to have two young children in rear-facing car seats, plus a large,a big dog, so I currently need quite a lot of space. The e-tron seems like a good compromise between boot space, comfort and overall practicality.

The plan would actually be to use it as a 2-year transition car. Hopefully, in two years there will be more affordable newer EVs on the used market, and by then we’ll probably need slightly less space as our dog could not be with us anymore (getting old) and the children will hopefully no longer need quite as much bulky equipment. At that point, I could either buy or lease a newer EV.

The alternatives I’m considering are:

Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV – more space and probably even better suited to our family, but obviously not a full EV.
Skoda Enyaq – practical and sensible, but I already have an Octavia and I’d like something that feels like more of a step up in terms of comfort and refinement.
Kia PV5 – very interesting from a space/practicality perspective, but I’m a bit concerned about its motorway range.

The e-tron is obviously an older EV now, with relatively high consumption and a heavy battery, but it still seems extremely comfortable and well built.

For those who have owned one for a while: would you still consider an e-tron 55 in 2026, especially for a 2-year lease where repairs are covered?

And how practical is it really with two rear-facing child seats and a large dog?

Thanks!
