Now that Hobbit hype is slowing down with reality fracture so near, I thought I would share my completed Middle Earth commander deck. The Fellowship is fully represented along with an all star cast of important characters from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books/films. (Disclaimer there are a couple of generic characters to round out the creatures such as Delighted Halfling and Notary Hobbits as examples, that aren’t source material characters but are just good flavor cards to have)

**Aragorn, The Uniter is 100% LOTR Flavor: My Low-Curve Token Swarm**

I wanted to build a strict Middle-earth thematic deck that actually plays smoothly, without getting bogged down by clunky, high-mana artifacts. The result is a 4-color go-wide deck focused on generating Human Soldiers and backing them up with cheap interaction.

The deck sits at a low average mana value (under 2.8) so it can consistently double-spell and trigger Aragorn. The real MVPs of the deck are the combination of The Queen of Dale and Belladonna Took. If she's out, casting a cheap spell (like *Rally at the Hornburg*) triggers Aragorn to make a 1/1 Soldier, which immediately triggers Belladonna for life gain and card draw. With Queen of Dale I can generate more to try and get the second and sometimes third trigger of Belladonna, and if I get Bard, King of Dale out then we get there even faster.
There is also a decent equipment suite that can enhance the non token creatures and keep the pressure off the token generating as well.

To keep things moving, I’m running 34 lands and cut most of the tap-lands in favor of untapped fixing like pain lands and *Bag End* (*Horizon Canopy*). Once the tokens are out, the goal is to buff them with *Flowering of the White Tree* or *Horn of Gondor*, while holding up 1-mana LOTR protection spells like *Galadriel's Dismissal* or *Legolas's Quick Reflexes* to keep the board safe. Lastly, using Elven Chorus to tap the generated tokens to activate Last March of the Ents and flood the board with creatures has led to epic swings especially when Gimli’s Reckless Might is already out on the board as well.

I'm really happy with how the flavor and mechanics ended up lining up. Are there any other cheap, efficient LOTR cards I might have overlooked that fit into a token strategy?
