Financial advisor worth 1.92% annual charge?

A family member has been talking to a financial advisor and the illustration he’s shared includes:

- 0.25% platform fee
- 0.10% DFM charge (discretionary financial management meaning they can manage funds freely without consulting first)
- 0.58% PW05 active investments
- 0.99% ongoing advice

It just seems a bit much, especially because of the fees just to use their wealth management platform for a GIA and a SIPP - I’m wondering if they could open a SIPP and a GIA (invested in an index fund) for a lot less money and still have the investments perform well. They haven’t mentioned projected performance in the illustration so I’m wondering if it’s even possible for them to manage the funds in a way that out performs an index fund or similar?

For context: My family member recently came into 500k inheritance through obviously sad circumstances, managing this much money and thinking about taxes etc stresses her out and she would like to not have to think about it too much while knowing it’s not losing value, and being able to draw a modest income from it.
