Got pooped on for AI use. Thoughts?
I use AI at work as a data analyst. It’s what the company expects so we don’t waste time on trivial tasks. I know a few programming languages and HTML.
I made a little HTML-based trivia game for my birthday, had a dozen people over, and it was fun. I made all my own questions, plugged in a couple mp3 files for music, all good. I had Claude quickly organize everything into a functioning game to save me a few hours of building the fundamental structure of the game (recording point collection, question sequencing, that stuff)
At one point during the game, my friend’s gf goes “wow so you made this yourself? How long did this take to make?”
I go “not too long, I just outsource the really tedious parts to AI.”
She just goes “oh, AI, ew.”
I told her something like “no no every creative bit here was my doing, but organizing everything is just mundane busywork. I’m not using it to think for me here” and her reply was just a subtly snarky “okay alright! Look you do you”
What the heck man
Is this where we are right now? Any AI use is bad? Where are you guys standing on this?
