Basemental + WW - Share your tips and help me utilize these mods for exciting gameplay

Hoping for someone to share exactly how they use these mods (especially basemental which I just downloaded last night) in their gameplay. I so desperately crave juicy and intriguing gameplay but I struggle with how to get there.

Background: I mostly enjoy building then don’t know how to translate the excitement for the ideas I have into gameplay, I usually force boring gameplay and then quit after 2 hours before I get inspo for my next build and repeat the cycle. I also do not have DLC like get together, is this required for what im looking for?
I typically create a household with maybe 3 young adults and have them interact and such but im unsure how to get it so that when they go to a club / bar there’s actually other sims / NPCs to spice it up. Also not sure how drug dealers work other than assigning an NPC, do they just spawn?

Again, would so greatly appreciate anyone sharing how they like to play, I desperately want to fall in love with gameplay.
