Self-Built / Manual Options

It’s not Monarch’s fault, directly, but I’m getting tired of connections that are constantly broken, rendering Monarch useless. Some bad culprits (Rogers Bank, Wealthsimple, MBNA).

Has anyone found success in creating your own tool for summarizing transactions?

I’m thinking of just creating an Excel workbook and adding the transactions after manually downloading them. It’ll be a PITA, but at this point I’m spending just as much time trying to reconnect institutions and adding manual transactions for broken connections.

Looking for feedback on anyone that has experimented with an approach like this.
