How do I get those initial contributors for an open-source repo ?

Initially I thought of creating an open-source community for a project is easy until I was in the spot. I'm trying to gain some contributors for my repo but I think I'm missing something - may be in the repo, or may be in my posts or may be my template or even my idea.
