What's actually on SRAM flat mount caliper bolts – mechanical patch or chemical thread locker?
Had my SRAM flat mount caliper bolts out and noticed a blue, dry patch on the threads, only on one side of the bolt, not all the way around.
Does anyone know for sure what SRAM uses on these bolts?
- Mechanical friction patch (Nylok / Tuflok style), reusable a few times
- Microencapsulated adhesive (Dri-Loc / Precote style), basically one-time use
The reason I care: it decides whether the bolts are still properly secured after being removed a few times, and whether I should add something like 243 or just torque them to spec.
