Best persimmon soap for nonenal / "old person smell" — what actually worked for you?
I've been comparing persimmon (kakishibu) bars for nonenal odor — neck, behind the ears, pillowcases, that greasy "closet" smell after 40.
What I'm seeing so far:
- Fragrance-free bars are easier if you're scent-sensitive or buying for a parent
- Technique matters as much as the bar (target oily spots + wash fabrics)
- Cheap Japanese drugstore bars (e.g. Pelican) are a low-risk test
- Bigger names (Mirai etc.) have way more reviews but price and scent options vary
I'm collecting honest results — what brand did you try, how long until you noticed a difference, and did the smell come back in clothes/bedding?
Disclosure: I'm connected to TanniBar / TheSoapDigest — still want real experiences, including "it didn't work."
