Endo & gynae

Hi guys, I had my first endo gynae appointment this morning and honestly I feel even more defeated after it. I am 25 and for the last 3 years I have been in constant pain around my period to the point where my daily life is getting affected.

Got the usual questions, had another TV scan (same as the one I had around Christmas) and once again everything came back “normal”.

I’ve been given Yasmin to take back to back for 6 months. I’m already on the implant as well so I have to get that removed.

I know this is only the start of my appointments and I know there are women out there who have waited years to be listened to properly, but it’s just getting too much now. I’m at the point where I can’t even do normal day to day things because of the pain and other symptoms.

I really don’t know how I’m supposed to wait another 6 months. I also really don’t want to go back on the pill, as I’d honestly like to come off contraception altogether.

For anyone who has been through something similar, what did you do next to get them to actually listen to you? Is there anything I should be asking for or pushing for?

Also, does anyone have any pain management suggestions other than NSAIDs? I’ve started getting really bad heartburn and I don’t think I can keep taking them.

I’d just really like to hear from people who have been in a similar position because I’m feeling pretty lost with it all at the moment💛
