5 Nights In Kyoto vs 3 Nights Kyoto/2 Nights Osaka

We are spending 5 nights in Tokyo, 2 in Hakone, and 5 in Kyoto

But not sure if we should split Kyoto into 3 nights Kyoto/ 2 nights Osaka, vs staying in Kyoto and taking the train the last 2 days to Osaka and maybe Nara.
