Does anyone who has sold a car, then separately purchased a car either at a dealer or from an individual, able to help with the step by step process?

I am getting rid of a beater car (so no trade in value) and will be possibly purchasing from a dealer or an individual.

I need to make sure all bases are covered with transferring titles, city stickers, license plates, etc.

Of course there isn’t a great resource detailing all steps and I’m worried I’ll miss something and be fined or in trouble with the city.

Since it’s not a straightforward trade in situation I’d love someone to help guide the process or if you have access to a checklist, etc.
