Need something reliable haul a teardrop camper in the mountains
My wife and I are looking to replace our nightmare 2015 Grand Cherokee Overland with something more reliable. We plan to use it only for recreation so are OK with something a little older as long as it gets the job done:
- $15K OTD - cash but will look if dealer financing has any advantages
- <100K miles, preferably <75K
- 2010 or newer
- SUV or Minivan w/ 3,500lb tow capacity
- 4WD would be nice, but for how rarely we drive in the snow+mountains I'm OK investing in snowtires/chains on a 2WD
- Expect to drive <12,000 miles/yr (will rent vehicle for long roadtrips)
- Will be used for:
- Hauling teardrop camper into mountains - no off-road, only go to campgrounds. Trailer is 13.5ft x 6.5ft x 6.5ft
- Going skiing in the mountains
- Hauling dogs/other stuff around town, sparingly
Any standout recommendations or vehicles to avoid?
