10mm hole in uterus... is pregnancy possible?
34F, 5'5", 115lbs, caucasian, never been preg before but would like to be in the next couple of years!
Hey, weird question! Basically I have a tiny hole in my uterus connecting the myometrium to the interior of a necrotic fibroid. I had a UFE two years ago on a rather large (11.5x8cm) intramural fibroid, it is now 6x4cm. I asked my doc this question and she said it "would probably be a problem" but didn't elaborate, I feel like every dr's appointment is super rushed on the dr's end, which I understand but it can be frustrating when you have a lot of topics to ask about.
So, anybody want to elaborate for me? It's a 10x10mm "fissure/defect" (doc summarized that to me as "a hole") that endometrial tissue and blood now occupies. If I were to become pregnant would this hole stretch? How does that work? I know the uterus produces more tissue as it grows with a child.. I'm just having a hard time imagining that scenario and I have to wait another 5 months before I see her again so I'm just looking for some internet insight until my next appt.
If this does inhibit pregnancy I plan to get a myomectomy, just fyi.
BTW, the UFE worked wonders and I no longer have any of the horrible symptoms I had before. Yay! Other than this weird hole situation I have no regrets, at least not yet anyway.
Thanks!
