TLDR: There is no "extra" added to the trade-in which means there is no "promotion" and "limited-time offer" is just silly.

My story: I ordered the 11 Pro with 512GB just last Friday (9/18/2026) from the promotion page linked above. Nothing was "automatically applied at checkout" so I navigated my way to a person in the support juggernaut. They could not figure it out so said they were opening an investigation.

Today (Monday) I figured I'd check in on that there investigation so I requested a callback. There was no investigation. But this new guy directed me to start a new trade in. I clicked though to discover that my ancient Samsung S20 was worth $10. No surprise, but where's the "extra up to $275"?

Here's where things took a linguistic, rhetorical, and even philosophical turn. It was explained to me that the meaning of this "promotion" was that I could get up to $275 for my trade-in. I asked what I would get after the "limited time" and was told it would, as now, depend on the market value for the used phone. So what exactly is the meaning of a limited-time promotion?
