Need Guidance about Utica Area.

To make you quick, I am 22M from New York City who is moving to the Utica/Rome area for a SWE position.

I want to live near a busy community so one Friday or Saturday I can go out for drinks or food. Also id love to have roommates, either guy or girl around my age. Is this possible?
