stroller thoughts?

we have the cruz stroller and mesa car seat. i find both great but rather large and heavy. would it be silly to get the joie mint and nutmeg as more of a daily use / travel stroller and car seat? we have friends who have a travel system we can borrow when actually traveling but i just find the cruz hard to take in to restaurants etc. thoughts? do people recommend a diff system if so?
