I think AI gets a lot more interesting once you stop treating it like a content generator

I’ve been using AI less to generate finished content and more like a persistent research and engineering partner. It helps track decisions, challenge assumptions, reconcile contradictions, run calculations, compare alternatives, and carry context across different parts of a larger technical project instead of just spitting out one answer and vanishing.

The line for me is pretty simple: if I can’t explain the answer, defend it, or recognize when it’s wrong afterward, then I let the AI do too much of the thinking. Used properly, it feels less like outsourcing your brain and more like giving it an absurd amount of extra bandwidth.
