Delirium Tremens

Hello,

For context, I got sober almost a year ago. I went through withdrawals but it was managed by medical assistance then I went to outpatient rehab. My husband & I were both heavy drinkers. I got sober after an incident but he continued to drink, albeit a lot less & never around me.

Friday morning I took him to the hospital & he was diagnosed with pancreatitis due to alcohol. Now, still in the hospital, he is full blown withdrawal. He has been officially diagnosed with delirium tremens & my heart is BROKEN. This has been the hardest thing for me to watch.

Has anyone experienced this? Did you turn out okay? Did the delusions go away? What should my next steps be? I am sitting in the hospital alone & scared.
