Tool settings for a stomp/tortillon
Hi!
So I’m working on a big project. I’m a drawing of a woman’s body, like she’s a statue from ancient Greece. I learned hyperrealism in college and from that I’ve integrated techniques that I want to use here but converting them from real life to a digital platform has proven difficult. In real life, I’m used to using 1 black pencil, 1 white, an eraser and a lot of stomps.
Now in infinite painter, I’ve managed to recreated an almost perfect and real life accurate pencil, but the stomps are not working even at all.
I’m doing all of this shading on one layer and it needs to stay that way because using multiple ones would make it almost impossible to work through.
This is quite hard to explain so please bear with me…
I’ve tried the cloth and fiber shaders, but they do this thing where instead of slightly lifting the pigments as they spread them, they just suck them all up so that even if I have a simple solid black circle, and buff in the middle of it, it’ll still just get lighter and lighter until you have a black rim with an empty middle, which makes no sense. The goal is to have a tool with a slight texture that mixes pigments and moves them, might erase a teeny tiny miniscule amount, but doesn’t incorporate the invisble “pigments” of the empty layer to incorporate them in the actual deposited pigments.
Basically, I want to draw a line, buff it out a bit, deposit a bit more pigment on the same spot, buff it out a bit so that I can build upon it to make some areas more dense and some lighter.
Anyways for those who do hyperrealism in real life and on digital, have you found a tool that acts like an actual stomp? If so which one and what are the settings?
Any help would be incredibly appreciated thank you!!
