I actually am taking a class on genocide and international law in law school and there are a variety of different opinions on this. The field of genocide studies is very slim, there is no consensus on whether or not what is happening to trans people in the US is a genocide. Some scholars prefer the term trans eliminationism. In any case I reject the ten stages theory because the guy that made that also claims what's happening in Tibet is a genocide. It's a sincere attempt to muddy the waters. I'm not okay with what's happening to trans people but I think it's a defendable position that it fundamentally isn't like what an ethnic annihilation looks like which is what's happening in Gaza. I've been a big contributor to the community, I've defended trans people against red scare chuds before. Please don't take it away from me
