Need help with finance related questions, new to UK

Where should I open my salary account? I want maximum returns and stability. Not HSBC.

What should one do about the savings in Indian account? I learnt that if I put it in FD in NRE/NRO, then it is taxable in UK. How to manage that money? I also have invested in stocks and MFs in India. What to do about them?

Anything else I should know? Has anybody moved in the last 4 years and is planning to settle permanently? I can see that properties are very expensive in London.
