Been awhile (224)
Been a long time since I posted (My 85th game was batman arkham knight) and I just completed UNO yesterday for my 224th game.
Making this post because of a recent interaction I had about "Cheating."
As someone who doesn't use SAM, I think Achievement hunting should be a fun hobby and people should do what they want as long as they are enjoying. So below are the games that I have "cheated" in and how:
Bramble: The Mountain King: Backed up my save on the no death run. but didn't end up using them.
Crysis 1 Remastered: I think I edited an ini file to make myself invincible for the hardest difficulty (didn't freaking help for the following 2).
Days gone: Used a save for the permadeath after they released the new DLC because I had already played through the game 2 or 3 times.
Doom (2016): Used a mod to boost XP gain so I didn't have to take like 70 hours to reach level 50 in a dead game.
Grand Theft Auto IV: Used a save for the ballad of gay tony DLC for all challenges because I was so burnt out after 75 hours.
Mad Max: Used someones save to complete the last unobtainable challenge.
Max Payne 3: Used a save file to get the level 50 achievement for MP.
RDR2: Had a modder that just gave me a bunch of XP for main character and factions for the MP stuff.
Subnautica Below Zero: Used command console to be able to build certain items quicker and used a mod to reactivate achievements after trying (literally saved me maybe an hour of time).
Witcher 2: Used the save unlocker mod for the no death run, but only used it once right before the first boss so not really worth it.
So be free, Play games how you want to play and enjoy it. I have seen achievements ruin gaming for so many and think that you should do whatever you want, however you want. But like rule 2 says, Just don't lie about it.
