I never played organized basketball team failed 7-9th grade tryouts. I really wanna improve. Im from the Hoods so wanna help out family too.

I have little experience on any good comp mostly play 1v1s if on good day. I barely play ppl imma solo guy I been recently fixing jumpshot and it improved but its still slow and I mainly use upper body and barely legs.

Defensively, I feel like that's one of the parts of my game that can become useful fastest. I'm pretty quick for my size, I like guarding people, and I can use my length to contest shots, get steals, and bother smaller players. I also have a pretty high motor when I'm actually playing.

Offensively, I'm still very raw. I can hit some threes and midrange shots when I'm in rhythm, but my consistency isn't there yet. My left hand, finishing through contact, ball handling under pressure, passing, creating my own shot, and making decisions in 5v5 all need a lot of work. I also don't have much experience reading a defense because I haven't played many organized games.

Most of my basketball has been solo training, 1v1s, and pickup, so one of my biggest problems is simply lack of reps against organized players. I've probably only played a handful of real 5v5 games in my life.

My goal isn't just to make a roster and sit there. I want to become someone a coach can actually trust on the court. Right now I'm trying to build myself into a guard/wing who can defend hard, knock down open shots, attack closeouts, run the floor, rebound, and make simple decisions without hurting the team.

I'm willing to hear that I'm behind or that certain parts of my game aren't good enough yet. I mainly want to know what a coach would have someone like me work on first and what would make the biggest difference between now and tryouts.

I needa Coach but im poor. Does anybody trust the process (DM ?)
