What’s stopping the Blight from jumping to other source games?

I’m not really a theorist and I don’t really analyze this all that much so maybe I’m wrong, but there’s nothing really stopping the blight from jumping to other games especially in the source engine right? I’d make a fan animation if I knew how, but all I can do is fantasize what it could or would do in CS or Deadlock.
