New environment is affecting my confidence and stressing me out

Question

How do you get your focus back after becoming hyperaware of other people?

I feel like I’ve lost a lot of my focus and motivation after joining a place with a lot of people around me. I’ve become very conscious of people watching me, commenting on things I do, or making small remarks that I perceive as micro or macro harassment.

The strange thing is that I was never really bothered by what other people thought of me. I used to be very focused, motivated, and able to just do my own thing without thinking much about other people.

But this new environment has affected me more than I expected. I find myself paying attention to people, wondering what they think, and getting distracted by things that I would previously have ignored.

I don’t want to live in this state of constant awareness. I want to get back to being focused on my work, my goals, and my own life.

For people who have gone through something similar: how did you stop being so aware of other people and get your focus back?
