Do I need the graphical calculator for year 12?

Is it necessary or give any advantage having a cg-50 or cg-100 in year 12?
Everyone in my year 12 class have bought one but I cannot afford one. I’ll probably be able to buy one at the start of year 13.
But is not having one currently disadvantaging me in any way?
