Coming to the realization that a relationship wasn’t good for me, even though I still love him very much.

venting/ranting

I came to realize that I might not be able to look past some of the things that were said to me. Even after a year, reading those words still brings me to tears. No one should be spoken to that way, no matter how angry someone is.

He’s currently out of town and I think I’ve decided to choose myself. I’m planning to pack my things from his place this weekend and just send him a text to let him know that I no longer feel emotionally safe staying in this relationship, even with counselling or personal growth.

It’s really tough because when I look back at how loving he was initially, and compare it to where we are now, it hurts a lot. This is also the second time he has broken up with me, and this time one of the reasons he gave was that we were “intellectually incompatible.”

I still love him a lot, and I think that’s what makes this so hard. Anyone experienced this before? How did it go?
