Supplements for ADHD (Mucuna Pruriens)
Good day y'all,
I'm interested in supplements that increase ADHD and improve the symptoms such as inattentiveness and reduce drive and motivation. My current stack is ZMA (Zinc, Magnesium Citrate and B6), Magnesium L-Threonate, Omega-3, Creatine Monohydrate, Boron, L-Theanine, Glycine and trialing Ashwagandha, Kava Kava, Cordyceps Militaris and Ginkgo Biloba. Looking to add Alpha-GPC and Taurine, possibly Multivitamin to phase out ZMA.
On top of these supplements, I am interested in increasing dopamine production and/or increasing efficiency of dopamine neurones. I have experience with L-Tyrosine, however, it has rate-limiting factor, and I found it to be hit or miss. On certain days with little sleep or long working hours it did provide some dopamine increase, as well as epinephrine, however I suspect it is not as effective as Mucuna Pruriens. I understand that the only sure way to improve ADHD symptoms is administering amphetamines, but I would like to avoid that.
From what I read here on reddit, Mucuna Pruriens can affect dopamine neurones negatively, and also, just like with anything that raises dopamine, it will lead to an eventual trough. What is your experience with Mucuna Pruriens, and what other supplements I may find useful for sustained attention and mood elevation. Would SAM-e, St. John's Wort or Saffron Extract produce a noticeable difference? What about Adaptogens like Rhodiola Rosea or Ginseng?
